My teaching style is flexible, student-centred, and interactive. I draw on my extensive subject knowledge, curriculum expertise, and pedagogical training to tailor lessons to each student’s needs.
I combine structure with adaptability—planning clear objectives and scaffolding tasks, while adjusting explanations, activities, and support based on how students respond. I use discussion, questioning, practical tasks, and recent real-world examples to engage students and develop critical thinking, ensuring they not only understand content but also build confidence and independence in their learning.

My lessons are carefully structured to balance engagement, understanding, and skill development. Typically, a lesson begins with a starter activity that engages students immediately, revisits prior learning, and sets the context for the lesson. I then move into a clear explanation or modelling of new content, using a mixture of discussion, visual aids, and examples to ensure concepts are accessible to all learners.
After this, students usually complete guided practice, where I monitor their work, provide support, and challenge them with differentiated tasks based on their ability. Lessons also include independent or paired activities, such as worksheets, writing tasks, or research, allowing students to apply their knowledge and develop critical thinking skills.
I regularly use questions and formative assessments throughout to check understanding and adjust the pace or approach as needed. Lessons typically end with a plenary or reflection activity to consolidate learning and link it to future lessons.
I tailor lessons to students by differentiating tasks, providing scaffolding for those who need it, and offering extension challenges for more confident learners. I also incorporate a variety of learning styles—visual, auditory, and kinesthetic—so that all students are actively engaged and supported.
