À propos de Talise
I am a native English speaker and a master’s student at Sciences Po Paris where I study public policy with a focus on energy and sustainability. I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Colorado Boulder with degrees in Environmental Studies and Economics.
I have several years of experience teaching and tutoring students from diverse academic, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds. Beginning with volunteering at my local public library, I worked with young children aged 6-11 for whom English was a second language to enhance their reading and writing skills. I later worked as an instructor at a summer camp where I designed curriculum and learning activities and more recently, as an academic coach for middle schoolers as they completed projects related to STEM subjects. My personal experience writing a thesis and working in a government office writing policy briefs has also prepared me to consult English learners on how to be successful in their academic and professional communication.
I am passionate about teaching because I believe in the ability of people at all levels to expand their skillsets, and I enjoy helping students gain confidence and independence in English. I take a structured, supportive, and professional approach to lessons, creating a learning environment where students feel comfortable making progress at their own pace while working toward clear, practical objectives.

I prioritize communication and confidence in my teaching, helping students feel comfortable expressing themselves in English. Lessons are practical and flexible, combining conversation practice with targeted grammar and vocabulary support. I adapt each session to the student’s needs, whether they are preparing for exams, presentations, interviews, or everyday communication. My strengths include patience, clear explanations, and ability to work with different learning styles for a supportive, motivating environment.
For beginner levels, I will focus on building confidence, explaining foundational concepts, and training the ear for better comprehension. For intermediate levels, more time will be spent on conversation and correcting mistakes that will help students reach fluency. For advanced levels and those looking to improve academic or workplace English, I will draw from my experience as a master's student at a top university to help students refine their academic writing, oral presentations, and workplace communication.
I teach learners of all levels, including students, young professionals, and adults.
