Hi, I'm Urvisha — a Maths and English tutor based in Paris, currently completing my MSc in Strategic Management & Consulting at SKEMA Business School.
I know what it feels like to sit in front of a topic that just won't click — and I know the moment it finally does. That moment is what I work towards in every lesson.
I graduated top of my class with a First Class BBA in Finance (CGPA 9.68/10), and I've spent two years teaching Maths, English, and Science to secondary school students, adapting my style to each individual learner. I also co-authored a published academic revision resource for the Class 10 Board exams — so I don't just know the subject, I know how to teach it in a way that actually sticks.

My approach is built around one simple idea: understanding first, memorisation second. I've seen too many students lose confidence because they were taught to repeat answers without ever truly grasping the concept behind them. My goal is to change that.
TEACHING TECHNIQUES & METHODS
I tailor every lesson to the individual student. Before we begin, I take time to understand how they learn — whether they're visual learners who need diagrams and worked examples, or analytical thinkers who need to understand the 'why' before the 'how'. I use a mix of:
• Socratic questioning — I ask guiding questions rather than giving answers directly, so students arrive at conclusions themselves and actually retain them
• Worked examples followed by independent practice — I demonstrate, then watch the student try, then give targeted feedback
• Regular mini-recaps — at the end of every session I ask the student to summarise what they've learned in their own words
TYPICAL LESSON STRUCTURE
A standard 60-minute session looks like this:
• First 10 minutes — quick review of the previous lesson and any homework or practice completed
• Next 35–40 minutes — introduction and explanation of the new topic, worked examples, and guided practice together
• Final 10–15 minutes — independent practice by the student, feedback, and a summary of key takeaways
• End of lesson — I set a small, specific task to consolidate learning before the next session
For exam preparation sessions, the structure shifts to timed practice questions with detailed feedback on both method and presentation.
MY SPECIFIC STRENGTHS AS A TEACHER
• Patience — I never make a student feel embarrassed for not understanding. Every question is a good question.
• Clarity — I have a talent for breaking down complex ideas into simple, logical steps. This is something my students have consistently told me.
• Academic depth — I hold a First Class BBA in Finance (CGPA 9.68/10) and am currently completing an MSc in Strategic Management & Consulting at SKEMA Business School in Paris. I teach from genuine expertise, not just textbooks.
• Published experience — I co-authored the Class 10 Maharashtra Board Question Bank Solution Set for Algebra and Geometry, a formally published academic revision resource. I understand exactly what examiners look for.
