I'm an American native English speaker with more than 20 years of experience in tourism and hospitality. I’m also a strategist, speaker, former senior leader and, these days, a French student.
For most of my career, communication has been part of the job. I’ve led teams, developed marketing and sales strategies, presented to boards and partners, and spoken to audiences at major tourism and meetings industry conferences. I know how to command a room, make a case, tell a story, and find the words that make an idea land.
Then I moved to France and started learning French.
Suddenly, I knew exactly what I wanted to say and couldn’t always say it. I could express a complex idea in English and freeze while reaching for the French to order lunch. I learned what it feels like to trade precision for silence because the sentence in your head is three levels ahead of the vocabulary you have available.
It’s humbling. Occasionally hilarious. And it has made me think differently about what it means to communicate well.
I’m still learning French, so I won’t pretend that I’ve discovered a secret formula for becoming fluent overnight. What I have discovered is how frustrating it can be when your ability to communicate in a new language doesn’t yet reflect the person, professional, or thinker you already are.
That gap is where I think I can be useful.
English is my native language, but communication has been the work of my career. I want to help professionals close the gap between the English they know and the things they’re capable of saying, presenting, questioning, explaining, and contributing.
You already have expertise. You already have ideas. You already know how to connect with people.

Can you think on your feet in English?
I know what it feels like to walk into a room where you need to make a connection, communicate an idea, earn someone’s confidence, or hold an audience’s attention. I’ve spent my career doing it.
For more than 20 years, I’ve built my career in tourism and hospitality, with experience spanning marketing, sales, communications, and business development, including eight years in senior leadership for a major U.S. destination organization. I’ve led teams, presented to boards and industry partners, developed and delivered sales presentations and pitches, and spoken on stages for organizations including Destinations International, PCMA Convening Leaders, and the U.S. Travel Association’s ESTO.
That’s what makes my approach to Business English different.
I work with individuals, small groups, and teams in tourism, hospitality, events, and related industries who want to communicate more effectively and confidently in English. We don’t start with generic grammar exercises. We start with where you need your English to take you.
Depending on your goals, our work might include:
•••Interview preparation: Practice answering questions naturally, telling your professional story, and communicating your experience with confidence.
•••Presentation and public speaking practice: Prepare and rehearse pitches, conference presentations, trade show presentations, and Q&A.
•••Role-playing: Practice sales calls, site visits, guest interactions, partner meetings, and other real workplace scenarios.
•••Networking: Become more comfortable starting conversations, introducing yourself and your work, and building professional relationships in English.
•••Meetings and professional communication: Practice contributing ideas, asking questions, navigating discussions, and communicating across cultures.
•••Tourism and hospitality English: Develop the vocabulary and conversational fluency you need for your specific role and professional environment.
