Je suis un guitariste de jazz professionnel basé à Montréal. J’ai perfectionné mon jeu lors de cours privés avec Peter Bernstein, Pasquale Grasso, Greg Ruggiero, Ari Roland, Michael Weiss, Grant Stewart, Chris Byars et Alex Goodman. Diplômé de la Tribeca Jazz Institute (NYC) en 2025 et de l’Université McGill en 2019, je suis très actif sur la scène américaine.

I am a Montréal-based professional jazz guitar player. I have studied privately with Peter Bernstein, Pasquale Grasso, Greg Ruggiero, Ari Roland, Michael Weiss, Grant Stewart, Chris Byars and Alex Goodman. I graduated from Tribeca Jazz institute in 2025 and McGill University in 2019. I am active on the local scene and have toured in Canada. You may have heard my music on the radio.
Short bio: Mathieu Soucy (he/him), “a natural-born swinger” (Jack Bowers, All About Jazz), “has been making quite a splash on the scene these days as a player, educator and composer with a nicely balanced style that has one foot planted firmly in the tradition and one foot planted firmly in the now” (Lyle Robinson, Jazz Guitar Life). His first full-length album RECOLLECTING (Inner-Bop Records) features brilliant voices of the new generation of Canadian jazz. 3x JUNO-winner Caity Gyorgy makes a guest appearance on two tracks as a vocalist and lyricist.
