My lessons are inspired by the teachings of Suzuki, Havas, Hoppenot and Galway. These great pedagogues rejected the idea that learning music had to be a painful process: both physically and psychologically. The search for enjoyable and efficient learning is key to the progress of my students -who may not want to become professionals in some cases, however, progress is what we all search for. Lessons are individual, but can also be in groups of two for the youngest.
Currently studying Viola at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, I previously acquired a diploma in Violin Performance from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and study part-time composition at the UdK Berlin.
As a teacher, I have had private students (children and adults) since the beginning of my university studies, because teaching music is part of the reason why I study it.
In special situations price can be discussed -i.e. group lessons/shorter multiple lessons per week/etc.

I had the immense joy of being taught by Matilda during my time in Glasgow. Her lessons have really helped me move forward with my violin play and most importantly, rediscover the joy of playing an instrument. Matilda always had very fitting recommendations for the pieces I should study and never failed to motivate me to keep on trying. And if it sounded squeeky we had a good laugh together!
In sum, Matilda is really an all-round wonderful teacher and human!
Matilda is a very enthusiastic and positive teacher. She is very generous and enjoys sharing her vast musical knowledge and musical experiences with others. She has been been teaching my daughter for a while now and I am in awe at her ability to understand, connect and keep her engaged with music making. I cannot recommend Matilda highly enough. L
