I hold a PhD in material science and currently work in academic research, with several years of previous experience specifically teaching and delivering the IB curriculum. My background allows me to bridge the gap between high school theory and the technical standards required at the university level. My experience includes: Direct IB Instruction: I have taught both Mathematics and Physics within an international school setting, giving me a thorough understanding of the IBO assessment criteria and the specific challenges students face in the Diploma Program. Scientific Research: My day-to-day work involves the practical application of the concepts I teach, particularly in data analysis, mathematical modeling, and experimental design. By combining my experience as a classroom teacher with my current role as a scientist, I offer a perspective that is both academically rigorous and practically grounded. I understand the pressure of the IB and provide the clear, English-language support necessary to navigate it successfully.

About the course I provide straightforward support for IB Mathematics and Physics, focusing on the specific requirements of the Higher Level (HL) and Standard Level (SL) syllabi. Having taught the curriculum and worked in scientific research, I prioritize understanding the underlying logic over rote memorization. Structure of the lessons: The sessions are practical. We identify specific topics where the student is struggling—whether it is Calculus, Mechanics, or Electromagnetism—and break down the theory into manageable parts. We then move directly into past paper questions. I emphasize the "mark scheme logic" to ensure students know how to pick up every available point. My approach: As a scientist, I tend to focus on technical accuracy and the correct application of methods. I can also provide specific guidance on the Internal Assessment (IA), helping students structure their investigations, analyze data, and handle error propagation correctly. Target audience: These lessons are for international students in Belgium (or online) currently enrolled in the IB Diploma Program. If you find the classroom pace too fast or the HL concepts unclear, we will work at a pace that ensures you actually grasp the material before the exams.
