À propos de Catia
My name is Catia, I’m from Portuga and my academic background is Biology. Portuguese is my mother tongue and I also speak English, Spanish, and I am currently learning French - which I can use to help with beginners (or not, for a more immersive experience).
Besides, I am also a multi-skilled person, working as a freelancer in Digital Illustration and Photography. I am a quick learner who can absorb new ideas and communicate clearly with people from all social & professional backgrounds.

I like to mold the methodology to the student's objectives and preferences. But basically, alongside the technical part of vocabulary and grammar, I like to bring in curiosities, facts, and expressions that are typical Portuguese. I think learning languages is more fun when it feels like you are talking to a friend instead of a strict professor.
I will make sure to adapt to your level and to your needs by talking to you before each exchange. If you’re comfortable with, I’m going to use media and cultural support such as songs, books, movies, etc. to help you practicing and discovering aspects of Portuguese. Speaking is a fundamental key so that’s what we’re going to focus on, always keeping in mind your level, needs, and your way of learning.

Précisions
As time is valuable to both me and my students, I have a 12 hours cancellation policy. Cancellations made less than 12 hours in advance will be charged 50% of the amount of the lesson. For no-shows, a cancellation fee equal to the total amount of the lesson is assessed. A student will be considered a no-show if he is 15 minutes late.
* exceptions will be made in extraordinary circumstances.
