As I am quite interested in current affairs, and I hope and suspect that you are too (Brussels being the "silicon valley" for politics..), I like to design each of my sessions with a different news topic in mind.
For more intermediate/advanced students - I believe that we can make the most progress by taking an integrated/theme-driven approach and work on your writing/reading/speaking/listening skills while focusing on the same topic.
I will ask you to read before our class a pre-selected news article. With a particular grammatical aspect/class of vocab in mind, I will ask you relevant questions about your opinion on the subject, test your understanding of my responses and correct your pronunciation.
For beginners, what counts most is to make it ‘click’: unlock the barrier, develop your interest, and excitement will come with it. By getting to know your learning type, I will adapt my methodology to ensure your progress.
I am from Kyiv and recently I moved to Brussels to pursue a career in European Affairs. Before that, I have obtained my degree in translation and pedagogy. I have been teaching Russian and English for almost 3 years. I still get postcards from some of my ex-students when they do their exchange semester in Moscow / Kyiv!
The prices listed are for beginner levels. Each lesson is 90 minutes minimum.
Message me if you are intermediate/advanced, I would be happy to offer you reasonable prices if you take more than 3 hours of lessons per week or by webcam!
