À propos de Katia
I'm a Sociologist based in Brussels, with a career bridging humanitarian action and corporate HR. My teaching journey was shaped by my work at "A Step Forward" refugees' shelter (Médecins du Monde). There, I taught Greek, English, and creative arts to asylum-seeking young women, mothers and children, focusing on their social autonomy and empowerment.
About the lessons, I incorporate my artistic background to make learning intuitive, especially for those navigating new cultural environments. My professional experience in DEI further reinforces my commitment to creating a safe and inclusive space for every student.
I really enjoy teaching because it's about building a meaningful connection, not just a typical teacher-student dynamic. I move away from dry memorization and focus on deep, interactive learning. This is the key for better results and a nice experience for the students.

I offer Modern Greek lessons that combine linguistic precision with a creative, human-centered approach. Drawing from my experience teaching at Médecins du Monde, I use interactive tools, such as sketching and music, to make learning intuitive and less academic.
Our sessions are held online and are structured around practical communication. We use engaging exercises and themed homework to ensure you can actually use the language in real life.
What makes my lessons unique is my background as a Social Scientist. With a Master’s from Erasmus University Rotterdam and professional experience in DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion), I create a safe and inclusive environment for everyone. My goal is to support your journey with empathy and adaptability, whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced speaker looking for deep cultural context.
