À propos de Sijal
I am a recent Computer Science graduate with a genuine love for the English language. English has always been a big part of my life, both academically and personally. I write poetry and blog about it, and I genuinely enjoy playing with language, words and ideas.
I also really enjoy spending time with children and young adults and getting to know them as individuals. I am patient, easy to talk to, and I want students to feel comfortable being themselves, asking questions and making mistakes without feeling embarrassed.
As a tutor, I would like to be someone students can actually talk to and feel comfortable learning with — almost like having a slightly older sibling who happens to be good at English. My goal is not just to help students get better grades, but to help them feel more confident using English on their own.

I prefer to start by understanding the student: their current level, what they find difficult, what they enjoy, and what they would like to improve. From there, I can adapt the lessons rather than following the exact same approach with everyone.
I can help with speaking and conversation, vocabulary, grammar, writing, homework, assignments and presentations. A lesson might involve practising conversation, working through school material, improving a piece of writing, learning new vocabulary, or focusing on a specific difficulty. For students who prefer more structure, I can also plan lessons around specific goals.
I have experience working with young people in different teaching settings. I spent two consecutive summers volunteering as an instructor at a Citizens Foundation Pakistan summer camp, returning in my second year as both an instructor and team lead. At university, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for Professional Practices in IT, supporting students with course material and questions. I have also provided one-on-one mathematics tutoring to a high school student.
These experiences have taught me that good teaching is not about using one method for everyone. It is about paying attention to the student, finding a way to explain things that make sense to them, and giving them enough space to learn at their own pace.
