À propos de Sigurjón Jósef
I am a classically trained flutist and musician, passionate about music and sharing it with others.
I began my higher music studies at the Iceland University of the Arts and am now continuing my studies in Paris. Throughout my musical education, I have had the opportunity to perform extensively as a soloist, chamber musician, and with orchestras, as well as participate in masterclasses with internationally recognized flutists and teachers.
Music has been an important part of my life from a very young age. Alongside the flute, I have also studied piano, which has given me a broader understanding of harmony, musical interpretation, and accompaniment.
I love sharing my musical knowledge with others, whether someone is picking up the flute for the very first time or already has years of experience. My goal is to make lessons enjoyable, encouraging, and inspiring, while helping each student develop strong technique, a beautiful sound, confidence, and their own musical personality.
I welcome children, teenagers, and adults at all stages of their musical journey.

My lessons are individually tailored to each student’s level, goals, and musical interests. I focus on developing a beautiful sound, strong technique, musical expression, and confidence on the flute.
Lessons can include tone development, breathing, technique, scales, études, classical repertoire, sight-reading, and preparation for auditions, exams, performances, or competitions. For beginners, I focus on building a strong technical foundation while keeping lessons enjoyable, motivating, and encouraging.
I believe that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching approach to the individual rather than following exactly the same method with everyone. Whether you are discovering the flute for the first time or looking to develop your playing at a more advanced level, lessons will be adapted to your own pace and goals.
I welcome children, teenagers, and adults, from complete beginners to more experienced players. Lessons are available online as well as in person in Paris.

My daughter has really enjoyed learning flute with Sigurjón. She always looks forward to her lessons and has become so much more interested in playing and practising at home. It has been lovely to see how much she enjoys the flute now. We are very happy with him and would definitely recommend him!
