À propos de Ghazal
I am a clarinetist and historical clarinet specialist, active as a performer in classical music, contemporary classical music, free improvisation, experimental music, and live electronics. My artistic practice extends beyond the clarinet and includes working with various instruments, sound objects, electronics, and interdisciplinary approaches. I am also a recording artist, creating and performing my own original music.
I graduated from the Ghent Conservatory and Boston University, where I developed expertise in the clarinet repertoire, both on modern and historical instruments and through different performance practices, as well as in contemporary music and musical creation.

I teach clarinet, historical clarinet, improvisation, piano, solfège, and music theory. My students range from complete beginners and amateur musicians to advanced students and professional performers seeking guidance on specific technical, musical, or creative aspects of their practice.
My teaching approach is highly individualized. I adapt my methods to each student's age, level, interests, and goals. Depending on the student's needs, lessons can range from a structured and methodical approach focused on technique and repertoire to a more creative exploration of improvisation, musical expression, and personal artistic development.
Whether you would like to learn classical repertoire, historical performance practice, improvisation, music theory, or simply enjoy making music, I aim to create a supportive and inspiring learning environment. For students interested in contemporary practices, I can also introduce the use of live electronics and creative technologies alongside acoustic instruments.
I teach mostly in English and Farsi (Persian), with a flexibility to teach in Dutch if needed.
